Operations Head

Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Operations Head to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maximizing productivity, ensuring cost efficiency, developing scalable operational systems, and supporting future plant expansion initiatives while fostering a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Plant Operations

1. Lead complete plant operations to ensure maximum productivity, operational efficiency, and timely deliveries.
2. Drive production planning, manpower allocation, machine utilization, and resource optimization.
3. Monitor operational performance and ensure achievement of production targets with minimal downtime.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

1. Develop and implement scalable operational systems, SOPs, and process frameworks.
2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and waste reduction practices.
3. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and profitability.

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

1. Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
2. Ensure high equipment uptime, machine reliability, and uninterrupted production flow.
3. Establish maintenance plans to enhance overall plant efficiency.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

1. Ensure compliance with quality standards, statutory regulations, environmental norms, and workplace safety requirements.
2. Maintain adherence to operational SOPs and industry best practices.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management

1. Manage procurement planning, inventory control, warehouse operations, vendor coordination, and dispatch management.
2. Ensure smooth material flow to support uninterrupted production activities.

Leadership & Team Management

1. Lead cross-functional teams across Production, Maintenance, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Quality functions.
2. Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
3. Coordinate with HR on recruitment, workforce planning, training, employee engagement, and performance management.

Business Growth & Expansion

1. Support operational expansion, new plant setup initiatives, infrastructure planning, and process standardization.
2. Collaborate with government authorities, auditors, vendors, investors, clients, and strategic partners.
3. Prepare MIS reports, KPI dashboards, and operational reviews for management decision-making.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field.
2. MBA in Operations Management will be preferred.

Experience

1. 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations.
2. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing complete plant operations.
3. Experience in process-driven manufacturing industries preferred.
4. Experience working in startup or high-growth manufacturing environments preferred.

Preferred Certifications

1. PMP (Project Management Professional)
2. Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt

Required Skills

Technical & Operational Skills

1. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational systems.
2. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, and process optimization.
3. Experience in process improvement, waste reduction, and quality enhancement initiatives.
