Production Manager – Manufacturing Operations

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations for machine-building products such as fruit packing machines, sorting machines, grading systems, conveyor systems, and other automation/packaging equipment.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in fabrication, welding, machining, powder coating, assembly, production planning, inventory management, and quality control. The role involves managing multiple production departments while ensuring on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Lead Fabrication, Welding, Machining, Powder Coating, Assembly, Testing, and Production operations.
- Plan and execute production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Monitor daily production performance, bottlenecks, and resource utilization.
- Drive productivity improvements and reduce manufacturing lead times.
Production Planning & Inventory Control
- Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure material availability.
- Manage WIP, raw material, and finished goods inventory.
- Ensure ERP-based production planning and reporting.
Fabrication, Welding & Machining
- Manage MIG, TIG, Arc Welding, and fabrication activities.
- Ensure fabrication quality, dimensional accuracy, and drawing compliance.
- Oversee CNC, VMC, drilling, milling, turning, and related machining operations.
- Optimize productivity while reducing rework and rejection rates.
Powder Coating & Quality Management
- Ensure powder coating and paint shop operations meet quality and production targets.
- Coordinate with Quality teams for in-process and final inspections.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive reduction in rejection, rework, and process inefficiencies.
Team Management
- Lead production engineers, supervisors, operators, and contract manpower.
- Conduct manpower planning, training, and performance reviews.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Support new product development and production ramp-up activities.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams for successful product launches.
- Establish manufacturing processes, tooling, and assembly procedures for new products.
Mandatory Requirements
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on experience managing Fabrication, Welding, Machining, Powder Coating, and Assembly shops.
- Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).
- Experience in Inventory Management and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of Quality Systems and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience in machine-building, industrial equipment, automation products, or related manufacturing industries.
